Richard Hammet (8) with 39 points from Gav Sheahan (10) on 37 points. B Grade, Paul Beighton (15) had 39 points from Charlie Repcak (20) 38 points. Scott Rixon got the NTP on the 5th hole and David Nolan on the 13th. The ball pool went to 32 points.
Dot Tattersal (13) recorded a nett 73 to win today from Jan Swain (21) on nett 74. The ball pool went down to 79 nett and the NTP went down to Dot Tattersall.
Twilight competition was played off the front nine holes. A solid field played in ideal conditions. Nathan Kerr took the chocolates with 22 points from Ray Chappel on 19 points. The ball pool ran down to 17 points.
In the main competition, it was stroke for both men and women and played off the blue and red tees. Again over 100 men took to the course resulting in a three-grade competition in perfect conditions. A Grade was won by Mark Smith (7) on nett 72 from a close Craig Corker (0) on nett 72. In B Grade, Philip Eltringham (13) score of nett 69 was enough to beat Neil Phillips (20) score of nett 70. C Grade went to Simon Baum (21) with a great score of nett 62, the best for the day, followed by Alan Henderson (34) on nett 75.
The ball pool ran down to nett 77. NTPs for the day on the 5th went to Terry Tobin, 7th to Travis Agg, 13th to Ian O’Brien and 17th to Liam Buchanan.
In the Ladies’ competition, we had some great scores, including winner Karen Lombardi (24) on 77. Ball Pool ran down to nett 84 and NTP on the 7th went to Marianna Bridgart.
Saturday also marked Round 1 of the Men’s Club Championships. In A Grade, it was Craig Corker (0) with a great score of 72 to beat Peter Brooks (-2) on 75. In B Grade we had Michael McAllum (15) record 86 from Angus McKoy (16) on 86. In C Grade it was Tim Freer (21) on 97 from Robert Bridgart (25) on 103.
A Stableford medley competition took place before the heat kicked in. Winner today was Noelene Bray (43) with a great score of 39 points from Jeff Treloar (13) on 35 points. The ball pool ran down to 34 points.
