BARWON Heads and Ocean Grove will come head to head this weekend in what will be their 104th Battle of the Bridge match. The Seagulls and Grubbers remain the only undefeated sides of the season to date and occupy the top two spots on the ladder.
Barwon Heads captain Mitch Herbison said he was looking forward to taking on the Grubbers, and that it would give them a good opportunity to test themselves against a great opposition. “It’s a big game for us and they tend to get a bit more heated than a normal game because it’s higher intensity,” Herbison said. “It will be a good contest.”
The Seagulls have won the last seven meetings between the two teams. The last time they met was in Round 14 2017, when Barwon Heads won 10.19 (79) to Ocean Grove 7.12 (54) at Howard Harmer Oval. And in Round 1 for the 2018 Epworth Senior Women’s competition, Barwon Heads will take on Ocean Grove on Sunday April 15 at Howard Harmer Oval.
